In this course, we explore game theory beyond its traditional use in strategy and conflict, and instead focus on how people play games in their everyday lives. We examine why people participate in games, how they strategize, and what keeps them engaged. Readings from social science disciplines emphasize playfulness, and we discuss the relationship between play and competition. Through this exploration, we question how considering play could impact modeling competitive behavior.
