This course explores the underrepresentation of women in political leadership positions worldwide, including the gender gap in voting patterns and political participation. Students will gain an intersectional understanding of women's involvement in civic and political spheres, as well as the major theories and research methods used in the sociological study of gender and politics. The course also addresses the cultural debates and policy issues surrounding gender in politics and strategies for increasing women's representation. Additionally, gender inequality in politics is examined through an intersectional lens.
1.Stay in a classic undergraduate residence hall.
2.Residences will have a lounge, common area, laundry facility, and computer cluster with printer.
3.You will most likely have a roommate and you may be placed on co-ed floors.
4.Eat meals with fellow students in a nearby dining commons.
