Course Details

This Pre-University Science Technology & Engineering Summer School course is designed to support high-achieving students aged 16-18, as they plan for moving on to university studies. This specific program will help if you’re considering a degree in some form of engineering, technology or anything related to science. The teaching is led by a highly experienced team in Summer Programmes and draws from the extensive expertise of King's faculties and academics. It combines lectures, seminars and discussions with practical work in labs. There’s an option to participate in team-based problem-solving sessions, helping to prepare you for the interactive teaching style used in top universities. By the end of the program you’ll have much more confidence about the options available to you at university level, along with experience of how you’ll learn and grow in these academic settings. 

Accommodation

  • You’ll be assigned a single en-suite room, in an area designated for pre-university students.
  • Linen and towels are provided
  • Stay in touch with wifi access access the campus
  • Take advantage of the library, computer rooms, quiet spaces, and study rooms
  • Breakfast included, with food outlets available on each campus for other meals

Tuition

  • Teaching is on-campus, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
  • Expert tutors introduce you to subjects at degree level
  • Learn how to conduct independent research and work collaboratively
  • Delve into key debates, themes, and cutting-edge research around science, technology and engineering
