This course aims to help students improve their reading, writing, and research skills to succeed in any university-level class. The class will include close readings of various texts, from ethnic narratives and films to research essays. Students will learn to revise their essays for clarity, coherence, and flow and to construct longer research essays. In-class activities, such as oral reports and peer editing, will be provided to help students develop their skills. Students will also learn to create and deliver a professional PowerPoint presentation based on their research. Attendance is required during the first two class sessions, and there is no final exam.
1.Stay in a classic undergraduate residence hall.
2.Residences will have a lounge, common area, laundry facility, and computer cluster with printer.
3.You will most likely have a roommate and you may be placed on co-ed floors.
4.Eat meals with fellow students in a nearby dining commons.
5.Dining options support students with food allergies, religious requirements, medical needs, and vegan/vegetarian diets.
