The IB Extended Essay Summer Course at ISSOS gives you time to focus on your essays with expert guidance and access to world-class research facilities. Tailored for students taking their IB Extended Essay in English, you’ll arrive with a pre-approved topic. During the course you’ll benefit from 39 hours of tuition as you develop research techniques, essay planning skills, and confidence in presentation and public speaking. Through interactive seminars and research sessions at the University of St Andrews' Main Library, you’ll learn skills applicable beyond your essays. With a structured approach, you’ll leave feeling better prepared to continue your essay journey, paired with exciting elective options.
Accomodation
- Live in university student accommodation, with other students of similar age and same gender
- Groups comprised of 8 to 15 students, residing together in assigned halls for the duration

ISSOS provides a unique summer program for 13 to 18-year-olds worldwide at prestigious universities of St Andrews, Cambridge, and Yale. ISSOS offers a well-rounded, supervised curriculum where students choose academic and elective classes. With over 80 nationalities represented, ISSOS fosters an international family environment, promoting friendships across borders. Places are limited to 10% for one nationality.
