FAQs about summer schools
Yes. On completion you receive a certificate confirming that you completed the course programme. It will include the course title and dates, along with your name, and will be signed by the summer school leaders. These certificates are not from our partner universities or colleges.
What's most important is a passion for your chosen subject and an enthusiasm to learn. The application process includes you writing a personal statement to demonstrate your commitment to the subject. A good command of English is recommended and for most courses we will assess this when you arrive. Our tutors have experience supporting students of all abilities.
The summer school teaching is designed to advance your learning. Because university entry requirements and school credits vary between institutions, we recommend you speak with your own school or university about this.
Before arriving at summer school you will receive a welcome pack. This may include a programme outline and a piece of work or reading to be completed before you arrive. If this is difficult to understand, your tutor will help you when you get here.
Our programme and courses are designed to help you enrich your knowledge and understanding, and we want to ensure you have tuition from an expert in the relevant department. It may not be possible to expand our curriculum to include your preferred area of interest, but whatever course you attend will help you develop valuable academic skills.
We want to ensure all our students, particularly those coming to the UK, to experience a range of trips and visits. These can include exploring historic cities such as London, Bath and Canterbury, visiting the stunning Blenheim Palace and the fascinating Harry Potter Studios. The programme we arrange will vary depending on the age group and dates of your course.
Our tutor team includes university academics from Oxford and Cambridge. They are experienced in seminar and tutorial methods used at these leading universities.
