This course builds on foundational knowledge of chemistry and explores its transformative power on various fields including biology, pharmaceuticals, and materials science. It examines the properties of carbon-based molecules, emphasizing carbonyl- and amine-derived compounds, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and chemical synthesis. Students will gain a conceptual understanding of chemical reactivity and physical organic chemistry. The course also includes a lab section for hands-on experience with modern chemical methods.
1.Stay in a classic undergraduate residence hall.
